Hi there! I'm so sorry to bother everyone on a weekend! But I'm a linguistics graduate student at Georgetown University, who just read the recent Huffington Post article about Love Plus. The game sounds like a lot of fun! And I definitely want to try it when I'm finallyyyy finished with all these projects. But for right now, I'm really interested in how people communicate with their Love Plus girlfriends. For one of my classes, I want to do a project on just that. My project will basically ask how do games and their users interact with one another through language as discussed through the context of Love Plus. Would anyone be willing of sending me screenshots of conversations between you and your girlfriend? Of course, if you do participate, you will remain completely anonymous and the project will only be shared with those in my 20-person class. When I present the project to the class, you will be given a fake name to protect your privacy. I'd greatly appreciate any conversations you can show me on Love Plus! You can reach me here or email me at vlh8 at georgetown dot edu for more information or with screenshots. And if anyone comes to mind who you think may enjoy helping, feel free to pass on my information. Thanks so much! And have a wonderful weekend! -Victoria

Unfortunately, conversation in this game isn't as exciting as you seem to think. Conversations ingame are like a lot of other video games, just a preset dialogue with the ocasional choice. In Love Plus Mode (a game mode where you interact more closely with the girl) you have the option to "talk" to the girl using the console's mic. But you can only ask a very limited set of simple questions or answer her questions with a very simple set of words. And since the voice recognition system is not that good the experience can be a little bit frustrating, specially if japanese isn't your main language.
