a friend of mine from school, whose name I wont reveal, is trying to convince Akari Uchida to release both games, the 3 artbooks, and the three iphhone/ipod/ipad apps in the US (from what I hear, she's moving to japan upon graduation.) I will keep you guys posted. Since she's a sophomore, like Takane-chan, she'd be graduating in 2013, as well as some of her friends and I

woah, woah, wait as much as I like the series i don't think that releasing both of them is really a good thing. If anything releasing lp+ only might be good enough since they are both the same game, I doubt it would be a good idea to release both games when the basic is the same. Also as much as I like the game the problem is the culture itself, odds are that they don't want to risk it seeing as how a certain group is going apes over underage blah blah blah... Not to mention that if is by 2013 it will most likely faster to learn Japanese in that time frame and just get the original even though is somewhat costly... Either way this is only my opinion, so don't take it personally.

Sorry, but that WON'T happen. First, it fails basic logic, it's 100% impossible to get the two games localized. It lacks total sense, LP+ is an upgrade of LP.
Second, it won't ever happen. Culture is completely different, and dating sims are not suitable for western markets. A game like LP+ in US market will be seen as weird, disgusting, and even can draw a bill to ban it and burn all copies (that IS more likely to happen than getting LP+ localized). Yeah, there are otakus on US and customers, but not even the 1% enough of costs for introducing it to its market. Completely inviable.
Third, even if Konami wants to ruin itself and spend millions of yen localizing it for NO PROFIT -since it will be impossible-, I DON'T WANT TO SEE IT. I'll kill myself before seeing LP localized with blonde s**t airheads. Think of what EBA was to Ouendan. Localization of dating sims to american culture is a cruel sin. And, a mere translation -without localization- won't work either as I said before. Your best chance is that a hacking team can translate the rom.
Sorry, but that's the reality. You can't mix freaky japanese culture to US airhead culture, markets do not work that way.
There is not a Konami' Tokimeki Memorial localized, less will there be a LP+ one.

any cultural difference can be edited out in the translation, like they did with the digimon monzaemon (renamed Teddymon, to edit out the cultural difference associated with his name.) I assure you, if my friend told the producer that, as well as translating the normal text, they'd have have to look for any cultural diference and edit out accordingly. easy, huh. Like the Onsen would be edited out, basically anything referring to japanese culture would be edited out

Riiight.. like what? hot springs? Renaming is one thing but things aren't as easy as you make it be. Also names aren't the only thing, since is a dating sim, it would get into either borderline or a ban due to the fact that they would be illegal/underage. They could change the ages and stuff, but they would most likely have to change the looks too to make it believable thanks to a certain group.. ughh... Not to mention that they would also have to change some of the backgrounds like the futon and stuff. In the end it might end up having to be a whole new game, so is better to start from scratch. In other words it will not be a love plus game, but rather something else. I remember there being something out there on the ps2 where they tried to localize a dating sim game, but in the process, it did end up being american, didn't play it but people say it wasn't that good.

What if, instead of localizing it or just translating it, they change the story slightly.
In this case, you are an American whose family has recently moved to Japan. (The house being explained that your entire family couldn't stay in one). Thus, when important holidays come that aren't known widely among Americans, your girlfriend explains them for you ahead of time.
Just a thought. It would still be a difficult sale though, considering how few Americans are probably interested in this.
