To be honest, I can't say if is the same for both lp and lp+,
however after a few short tests, I have come to a conclusion that the gifts you get are totally random XD
So if you're using a cart, or in case of the original, have a device that is able to back up save files, save before your birthday and keep re-doing that part of the game until you get something you like XD

i was originally using the guide for getting gift, but after a while, i stopped and every time i got her something, she would say the same thing, and im sure some of them were things she didnt like

Is that so? this was really for gifts you get.
I was wondering if it was random or not, but after trying again because I didn't like what I got, I just went and re loaded the save, then they gave me different ones. so I just re-did it for all of them till i got something I liked XD

if you have file with all three girls, do they all give you the same thing at first? i understand that what you get may not be effected by your parameters(phy, int, sen, char) nor her current mood, so it is in some sense random, but i wonder if the randomness of gifts at least differs between each girl. i ask because i have heard of a case where two ppl with the same birthday got the same gift from different girls. also for my birthday manaka gave me a "shoulder bag" XD www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRecos7TcA0 |

No, is random for all three of them.
although if you cycle enough through each of them, you can end up having the same gift from all three if you really want.
So if you get a gift from one, save, backup file, redo process again with all three but saving after each gift you like, you can get the same gift from all of them.
