linkBased on the little descriptions, Rinko's got a massive lead.

Well, the kotaku writer gave Rinko a bit more of an in-depth background, and only gave Manaka and Nene a superficial background of their character. Can't go wrong with any of them, honestly. I could see most gamers going for Rinko for her "cool" look, however.

Rinko's character is unique, so that's expected. Not saying the other two are necessarily bad in any way, but they don't stand out much. Nene's character has been done countless times given her voice actress (Minaguchi's known for doing motherly roles - Kouko and Akiko, Clannad and Kanon, respectively). And Manaka doesn't seem like she has anything out of the ordinary about her.
Add in Yukino, and next thing you know, people will flock to her.

I think it has a lot to do with how the international fandom is more anime oriented and doesn't treat the game as part of their own reality. I think in Japan Manaka and Nene are far more popular cause gamers there see them as everyday girls they would like to date in RL while the rest of us are drawn to the more animated types cause they are more iconic and gives the game this strong anime flavor.

I always noticed that even on this forum Rinko is the favourite with Nene being the least (hell even my original try at the game was Rinko), maybe people are more interested in 'big sister' types in Japan.

Don't know if he is a retard or pretends to be one for the video/audience... As a self proclaimed regular player of dating sims and being fluent in Japanese (hello, tutorials?) he should know better how to play than this. Was really painful to watch.

found it pretty hilarious especially him thinking a karaoke room means less people looking.

I always wondered who was looking when the girl was in your room too... got used to that "weird game design decision"

his girl's feelings were down so he only got 3 stars to fill in the heart but 3 stars usually don't fill in a full heart so no skinship for him and the girl's feelings don't go up unless you have a bit of skinship so end conclusion: no happy smiles from the girl nor kisses, dead end. this kinda feels like an unforeseen loop to me, maybe new players can fill us in if it get's any better later?

As long as you don't hit a blue heart that stops the first phase and empties the heart, the fill rate of the heart is saved for the next try. So it's possible to get to phase two within 2 tries at the first phase. He actually manages to get to the second phase later on...
