Most of them are like in the previous games, understanding what they say is not important as long as you know the correct reply.

i think New Love plus, has more diaglous and emails.. It does, I didn't say "all of them", I said "most of them". The Japanese Wiki already has the correct reply for all new mails. Again, it's not necessary to know what they say, so don't count on anybody doing a translation.

I have been learning Japanese online and with apps and games. I can proudly say im Intermediate Japanese. Im still basic on the dialoges though, I can mostly read japanese. Kanji level: Beginner (I know 二人means 'Futari' or together in JP)
When you search for Learn Japanese online on google, there are lots of sites providing information. I used 'Human Japanese' lots. its an App on Android/Apple as well as a program for the PC. I have the download for it, so just ask me for it. (I learned a lot using it)
There are lots of Youtubers who teach Japanese through videos, Like the Japanese society (Waku waku Japanese) and lots more. just search youtube!
Im sure you can understand a few bits of what your gf says. I actually do understand lots more now that i know some japanese.
also, You should buy a big notebook or something to write down all the kana, it helps. if you see a kana and you don't know what it means you can easily just find it in your notebook. This way, you'll learn stuff faster.
also one tip, there is this app called 'Tune in radio' It uses wifi, so you can reach Japanese radio stations. if you search a station you like, you can practice your skills in reality.
I hope you guys can find my rant usefull xD Ganbatte, Minna!

I too use human Japanese, the PC version. While I am out and about I listen to conversational Japanese lessons.
One of the things that has helped a lot is typing phonetically into my android tablet on an English keyboard and watching it translated into kana as I go.

I understand 80% of the spoken dialogues thanks to watching too many anime but unfortunately written Japanese is not something i have mastered..however starting my LP experience by playing the English patch helped me move on to the other games without coming across any huge problems..

I feel for a game like LP a Japanese Translation category in the forums would be absolutely necessary ^^; Sorry for the bump, but I had a few questions myself... 1) What have you guys found to be the fastest way for looking up kanji? I usually search by radical using an app on my iphone, but I have to admit it's very slow (but faster than counting strokes at least). It has a handwriting function but I write way kanji way too sloppy. It has a flashcard function too, which is pretty handy for memorization. 2) I've been using Tune In to listen in on Japanese stations to get my ear used to hearing Japanese, though I still struggle with comprehending the syllables (especially in long sentences). I was wondering if anyone could recommend any stations that has more chatter, with little song interruption. I tried listening to NHK News, but usually they're off the air. 3) Any free Japanese television source that's streamed online? I got a mp3 voice recorder to playback Nene's spoken lines, so I can read along with the text and figure out the sounds in natural conversation. I may actually start photographing the game pics too
