it's nice to have a hope for a version of the game becoming localized one day but what we fail to realize is that it probably might never reach the US/EU market for moral issues cause in the game you date a 16 and a 17 year old girl..otherwise I'm not sure why they haven't done it already with any of the previous very popular versions since 2009.. we all know the game is rather romantic and pure and not ville or indecent in any way as the rumors and hype around it suggests, however maybe companies think it belongs to a "special" category and are probably reluctant to bother with it.. It probably has to do that most people(in the west) would stereotype it as a porn game or some game for lonely losers or something like that. It'd be godsend if this got localized and was a hit but you never know, miracles happen. I think this "Most people in the west" thing is usually taken much out of the category of "too far", if you will. Sometimes I wonder how Japan really sees the west, or other countries that "aren't" Japan exclusively. Given that the west is made up of many cultures, it always hits a cord with me when I hear this being spoken. I'm Asian myself, and I can tell you, we're all human despite the cultural differences, so a game like Love Plus really isn't all that far-fetched. I think a lot of Japanese have this world-view that it would be strange if some of their games were changed to suit "us westerners" (ie countries that don't speak Japanese exclusively), despite us being so used to it by now, so they never bother. There's nothing inherently special about Japanese culture, really. Being a fellow Asian, that's how I see it, anyway.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen articles on a lot of the major game news sites where they somehow find time to criticize games of this nature (Not only Love Plus). And it's always the same deal (I'm sure you know what they say). It's 2013, and people are still like this... Sometimes I can't believe it myself. I would have expected this in the early days (early 90s), but not something I would see today. I'm talking about sites like Destructoid, Kotaku, etc. I don't have a stigma with Western media, but it's clear that they're the ones doing it most often.

Yeah the problem is the game is viewed as something very weird and "exotic"(in a cultural manner) outside of Japan, people(in comments) & media usually ridicule and criticize it pretty harshly with words like 'forever alone','perverted','sick',etc therefore the fans are not too vocal in supporting the game and showing that there actually is quite an audience for it internationally..It wouldn't take much for a possible investor to deciding upon not finding out what it's really about and investing in localizing this game.

Who knows maybe one day, this game maybe localized,I mean they could try to do a limited print or something and test overseas,I just hope if this ever gets localized that people aren't embarrassed to buy it.This is "werid and exotic" but killing tons of people in intense mindless violence isn't,sometimes I really hate the western media.

I agree 100%! personally I condone violence in any form therefore don't play games that use it as a theme, never have and probably never will so for me it's also very awkward how it's ok in the gaming society to take the role of a mass murderer and "kill!kill!kill!" with the excuse that "it's just a fantasy world" but suddenly LovePlus is too "real" and we should be ashamed for playing it..

You don't? Any form? Personally, it's not violence that takes away a lot of the fun factor of the "majority" of western games for me. I'm not against the content of them (I do play them, a few select titles). For me, it's the perceived notion that separates East and West here that's the issue. No bias here, but I don't play the mainstream western shooters (only "smart" ones, if you will). I'm not sure everyone on the board is a major gamer, so I'm not going to go into detail. They both have their merits, but what's attractive about the Eastern games is that they aren't afraid to try new things. The idea that Western games are all shooters really isn't an odd idea because aside from indie games, the majority are (I'm not sure anyone can deny that at this point). And the worst part of it all? Japanese companies are following in their footsteps (Capcom). Again the same can be said about the East to an extent, but I'd say they always try their best to be creative with the technology.

i would sometimes (unwillingly) play some beat-them-up matches with one of my brothers or a friend but in general I avoid playing any of that new gory stuff. although i do watch series like 'Walking Dead' or 'True Blood' i just don't enjoy taking a violent role myself in hostile game environments, i find the experience quite unpleasant, mentally unhealthy and stressful.my faith in gaming was restored when I bought the DS for LP and discovered nintendo bigger range of games are actually non-violent and quite educational..

I understand completely. There's the mainstream and the niche gamer. The latter who like to try new things beyond what the majority play, right? I think everyone on this board would fall into that, because why else would we be here in the first place? XD Given the low userbase here, I'd say we're few and far between. So you like adventure games... Yeah, telling a story is sometimes what gets you sucked into a game in the first place. You know, I'm a big fan of the classic text adventures as well. Zork and such. I love the level of interactivity presented, because it makes you think.
I think Nintendo's always been known for going beyond the simple controller. That's why they've been successful for so long. They really pioneered the industry with not only their franchises, but hardware as well.
The main reason I got attracted to LP was because of the voice talent present (and also being a niche gamer). I'm sure as you can tell from my avatar, I was a big CCS fan (It was a big part of my childhood). Sakura Tange and Yuko Minaguchi played Sakura and Nadeshiko (then later on Kasumi from DoA and Akiko from Kanon), so yeah. After I played it, I guess I just sort of got lost in it, like you did. The rest would be history...

ok, reading more into it, it's a possibility that the interview was translated by blogs in a way that it became a bit misleading..it feels as though Mr.Uchida is not saying that NLP+ will change ALL of it's graphics from 3D to 2D but he is probably referring to a new style of events that will happen during the dates(?) or the new 'field trips'(?) and will be in 2D style similar to the dream events(but different)..so i think overall the girls will still be the same and in 3D but we'll get more dream sequence styled event during the day and not just during the night,lol.. Judging from the weird locations and time travel back in time they showed on the new illustrations..perhaps daydreaming events during the field trips?
