As per yesterday (27-03-2013) Konami announced New Love Plus will be a downloadable games that you can buy via e-Shop. The games will be sold at 4800 Yen. The main game required 1.8 GB (14.400 block) of free disk space on your SD card and the all-important update (patch 1.2) will require 600 MB (4.800 block), totaling 2.4 GB (19.200 block) of your SD card space, so it`s recommended that you have big capacity SD card on your 3DS. The downloadable version has no graphics or gameplay differences whatsoever from the retail boxed version, and same as boxed version, if you want to port your save games from original Love Plus or Love Plus Plus, you have to buy the NLP tools separately. Yeah right. Please note that you CAN'T play both the downloadable games and the retail boxed version, because when you download the update patch it will ask to re-create the data that's been reside on your SD Card (from your boxed version), eventually wiping all the data and save game that`s stored there. So if you already have retail boxed version of the game and crazy enough to want to buy the downloadable version, i suggest you buy another Japanese 3DS. (or try swapping SD card, don't know if you can do this this way thought..) The real question is: When you will release the mythical, oh-so-important 1.3 patch, Konami??? update: apparently there is a tool to move save game from boxed game to downloadable games, provided by nintendo, i don't know about that.

I thought NLP has been downloadable for a while now, at least a few months.
If Konami is this fast with their press releases no wonder they've been slacking with 1.3 …

yes the game was one of the first few that were offered as a downloaded version as soon as this new downloadable feature was introduced which was months ago..i think the late announcement has to do with the fact that back then nintendo hadn't resolved the issue with the saved data transfer so the option felt kinda incomplete but since they just released the new "save data transfer tool" you can now continue your NLP save game and not have to start a-new etc therefore it's safer to advertize it now without frustrating the users and fans any further..
"A tool that allows Nintendo 3DS users to transfer save data from the packaged version of a game to the downloadable version. Players that originally purchased a physical version of a game will be able to pick up right where they left off with their save data if they decide to purchase the digital version of the same game. Save data that is transferred to a digital game cannot be moved back to the physical version."
the problem with a future patch is they never promised one..when the 1.1 patch became available they made it clear that another one much more "enhanced" would arrive at a later given period, when the 1.2 patch arrived 3 months later they acted like all the issues were resolved and were really confident with the re-work they had achieved since they also resumed the sales of the game that were in a halt because of the bad reviews over the bugs..to create more patches it's not as easy as it sounds, it means the commissioned team must be gathered together again, payed and issued to re-work in the game which would take effort and time/months hence a lot of money to fix something that is already out there and "working"..also if it took 3 months for the 1.2 patch and it's been 7 months since then it probably means this is a very dry period of NOT working further in the game..and Uchida seems to have engaged to other projects lately so it's a bit hazy..
