I have no idea why, but it was requiring sign in even though permission was set to "anyone with link" I changed it to completely "public on the web" and I think it works now. IDK much about the googledocs to tell the truth. Err, I also notice that google translate has run amuck on it too, so nevermind that other link anyway. Here is a version that *should* be right now: spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Apxd_4D3ThKcdGJnQy1ja1d6NDZlMWVueVhUX1dKY0E&hl=en#gid=0

You think it would be alright if I made some changes to that? Been meaning to mess with the original one but lacked the time to do it. Some of the things seem a bit off...

I've made some updates to the spreadsheet. There is still a lot unfinished and incorrect, but it is better than before ^^ Most of page 1 is finished and a good bit of page 2. Slowly I am learning the language. I guess Japanese will be my third if you count Hymmnos...

Yeah, let's not count non-existing languages from books, series, video games and etc. If you put the effort of learning those languages, you can learn other languages easily. Now what I need is to be able to speak read and write Japanese without any problems. Once I get Japanese it will be my fourth and not sure what to do after Japanese...

I wouldn't call it a "non-existing" language. Whether it was created or not, it is still a language. It's not just a silly cypher like say Al-bhed. Anyway, every language had to be created at some point. Of course, I wouldn't put it on a resume as an additional language lol

Ok, then let's not talk about stuff you wouldn't put in a resume. Al-bhed somewhat sounds like german or something similar.

Sorry to come back at you like I did in my last post, I just took a little bit of offense there. I really have a soft spot for Hymmnos, but if you don't want me to speak of it here that is cool ^^ I know it isn't a real language to everyone, but to me it is. But its okay if you guys disagree. I won't mention it anymore. ~Promise~
Edit: Oh also, you know three languages and are learning a fourth? Very impressive! I would love to be able to say that. I'm not sure what I'd like to learn aside from Japanese though.

Is not that, is only mainly because simply we don't get the language, you are welcome to use it if someone else talks about it, but people won't get what it is unless if they search for what it is -like I did- Either way I once tried the middle earth thing and gave up, was learning English at the time so it just wasn't the right time. Also didn't play the game yet so can't really say much about Hymmnos. Just next time do put what it means and we will all be happy (I think...)

Well since you asked, "Was yea erra haf revm innna mea" is my personal motto. In English it means "I am very happy to hold dreams in my heart forever"
And for anyone who doesn't know: Hymmnos is a constructed language created for the game series Ar tonelico. It is not created by cyphering and exchanging one letter for another like Al bhed. It is also not made up of words from other languages. It is a complete created language with special grammar rules and all that.
The reason I am so fond of it is because every Hymmnos sentence expresses the emotion of the speaker towards the object of the sentence. In my example above, "Was yea erra" is called the emotion sound. The subject of a Hymmnos sentence is always "I" unless overridden with a special rule. "Was" means "Intensely" or "transcendentally," "yea" means "happy," and "erra" means "I want this to last forever." So the fact that the language always ensures your emotions are expressed makes it really special to me, since most people are always so careful to hide their true feelings when communicating.

Wow, it really makes me happy that you are interested! I learned most of what I know from conlang.wikia.com/wiki/Hymmnos. You can also find a lot of good information at artonelico.isisview.org. Furthermore, I am the author and maintainer of the Hymmnos Translator 2 for PC application which you can grab from my site at myriaddreams.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=3#Hymmnos%20Translator%202. It doesn't do English to Hymmnos yet though, just Hymmnos to English. I guess that limits its usefulness as a teaching tool. It also doesn't account for the different grammatical structures that English and Hymmnos have. It is very much a work in progress. Another interesting and very wonderful thing about Hymmnos is that it is designed specifically for singing. The words are created as they are so that they will sound beautiful when sang. Check out www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeSUaKHRz44 for an example. That is a very simple Hymmnos song as far as they go, but I think the lyrics are very pretty both in sound and meaning. Now, I am not a Hymmnos master by any means, and there are some very complicated things you can do with it, for example "Binasphere" which lets you combine two sentences into one. I still don't get that lol. Here is a basic Hymmnos grammar lesson that should be helpful: In English a simple sentence is: SUBJECT -> VERB - > OBJECT "Blyss went to the store." BLYSS -> WENT -> STORE In Hymmnos, the subject "I" is ALWAYS implied unless overridden by special rules I won't go into here. Then the basic structure is: EMOTION SOUND -> VERB -> OBJECT -> COMPOUND OBJECT "Was yea ra chs hymmnos mea" -> "I am happy to change myself into a song" I(implied) -> WAS YEA ERRA(emotion sound) - > CHS(verb) -> HYMMNOS(object) -> MEA(compound object) I(implied) -> AM HAPPY TO(emotion sound) -> CHANGE(verb) -> SONG(object) -> MYSELF(compound object). Hopefully that was useful! Edit: oh if you want to talk more about Hymmnos, I'd be happy to. I love the language and could speak forever about it haha. But I think if we do we should make a new thread since we are kind of hijacking this one lol. ~Blyss

John won't mind us hijacking it for a short while, but why don't you post all of this in the 'anything going here' board under random? That would be better and I won't post it there because if you make the thread you can just add more to this if needed.
