just went ahead and impulsively bought a white 3DSLL to test it,
here some prons and cons of the machine while playing NLP.
about the device:
a) it's huge!. i didn't think it would be that big from looking at the pictures all over the internet but it actually feels like you're holding a mini laptop in your hands. whe you flat open it , it's almost as big/long as my..foot,lol.. personally i don't think it's a portable machine to carry with you on a trip or somewhere else outside but it sure is the machine if you want to experience a game indoors and in it's full 100% potentials.
b) the whole device is now made from one type of material and the mat finish is great, no more shiny surfaces and oily fingerprints everywhere, stays/feels cleaner, it actually feels like it's an oversized DS LITE which is one of my favorite DS machines aesthetically(and the device the LP brand was first introduced in). also the screens have a thin protruding layer around them and also two small bumps on the top to make sure the screens will never meet and scratch each other like a previous problem with the 3DS. also now the upper lid has two lock positions that lock safely in a "laptop" (to sit on a desk) and "flat" (to hold in your hands) positions..
c) it's a bit harder to adjust to the position you have to take to see the 3D effect clearly(you have to look a bit from the bottom looking up and not straight forward) but once you find the position because the screen is in a big enough size to be compatible with the human optical view you'll notice that the effect actually feels 80% clearer and you don't get that ghost effect that much like before.
it got a bit harder for me to keep holding the machine in my hands but it works comfortably while in the laptop position if you sit on a desk or lie in bed or rest it in your lap flat open while sitting..
about playing the NLP game on a 3DSLL:
a) i usually play the game using the lowest/"1" lighting option and with the filters off in the 3DS and it is lit enough, quite vivid and sharp..well thats not the case with a 3DSLL, with the same options feels a little too dark with a faded yellow and grey hue, i had to turn the light to "5" to get the background in LPM to feel like a crisp white colour, but other than that the colours and graphics look great once you switch the light a bit more, it becomes vivid enough..the sound feels a little bit more "boxed" in my opinion and not as loud but maybe it's cause i have my device in a protective case(?)..
you'd never expect it but everything that happens in the upper screen during the NLP game is actually that of amazing quality!
.you would never be able to see all that detail in the smaller machine i swear there are stuff there that i had never noticed before.
the 2D backgrounds("frozen" drawn locations) are really HD, do not feel stretched at all and are so beautifully detailed.
the 3D backgrounds(walking with girl) are really detailed as well it's like the game was created in this size and was compromised to the smaller size.
the 3D girl feels just a tiny bit pixely especially where her hair is thinning out and meets with the backgrounds but other than that everything actually makes slightly more sense in the 3DSLL. you can see the borders/shading on her face, body, clothes, her subtle pink lips, her adorable pink fingernails(??!!), details of her accessories you couldn't see before..
picture taking is a far more fun experience now, you see so much more detail when zooming and moving around reveals much more to your eyes..also when you unlock the wander around/gyro effect it performs softer and more in control.
about the girl size, if the girl was a figma doll in the 3DS screens you now get a barbie doll size girl(or bigger) in the 3DSLL.
now about the lower screen graphics of NLP, i think the graphics there are not that great.
stuff like the dialogue box, text and some of the logos feel a little too stretched/pixely too..
it's not that bad as i make it sound but it's where the game actually feels like they have overstretch the images and graphics.it makes you feel the screens should have been just a tiny bit smaller(-10% smaller) and it would have been perfect..
what i enjoyed the most is the first part of skinship(after you install the 1.1 patch) it sudenly feels much more intimate, being that the girls are three times as big now means you can touch x3 more of the surface and the stylus obeys your movements more..though it's the same "no response" problem at the kissing part mainly cause of the game bug and not the console..
battery life is awesome in comparison to the 3ds,
a whole day of switching it off/on and playing turns out I run out of battery before it did,lol
anyway, it's great to play NLP in 3DSLL, it feels like you can now play the game in a mini laptop or something, but i still have my doubts about this machine, being that i like to carry the device in my pocket a lot i'm not sure i'll be transferring and keeping my 3DSLL device just yet,lol..
