I've just ordered a Japanese 3DS LL (for Tri G) and somehow I stumbled across a trailer sort of thing for this.....and it actually looks kinda interesting (yay for a way to avoid real people! ^_^)
But I'm kinda confused about the game so here's a couple of questions for ya!
1) What (if anything) is the difference between the three versions of the game? (from the name I'm guessing you get one girl to date per version?)
2) Further to that, I was thinking of getting Rinko's version (because she's kinda cute ^_^)....is this good/bad idea for a beginner?
3) Can someone give me a brief overview of how the game is actually played? (I've had trouble finding any videos that aren't just trailers/PV's/previous games)
I think that's all for now ^_^

Hello and welcome.
The three games are basically the same thing, they only have updated graphics and more text events and stuff like that. In the end all games come with all three girls, Nene Manaka and Rinko, you choose them while playing in the first half of the game, which leads to the other never ending phase of the game.
As for gameplay, the basic is the same for all of them, but by the time New Love plus came out, it seems that they changed a few things.
In the end though, playing the first game gives you a basic understanding, and the others have added extra things to it, so not much of a game difference.

Sorry....I didn't mean the three versions of Love Plus (although that's because I'm a derp and wasn't clear ^_^)
But the site I plan to buy NLP from lists three versions of the game (when you go to add to cart it asks whether you want a Manaka, Nene or Rinko version)
That's what I meant by three versions ^_^
Thanks for replying though ^_^

Those are probably the Limited Editions of NLP with girl related goodies. The game itself is always the same. Could also be the NLP + 3DS bundles, but that's kind of pointless if you want to buy a 3DS LL

Is as MorisatoK said.
those sound like the bundles and all the games are the same character wise, all three and so on.
If you meant that you would be choosing rinko as the first girl to play with, there is no beginner or advanced mode on the game. You play and choose based on your preferences since all of them are different, personality and appearance wise.
That is what the first half of the game is for.
You meet all three, see which one you like then go for the one you choose.
Also be aware of hidden personalities which can be unlocked, those will make them act different and to a point dress differently, so yeah...

Ohhhhh!
It must the LE of the game then (it's confusing, it only has one picture of the front of the box but by add to cart it lists three versions ^_^)
What're the goodies with the LE?
And yeah....I would've got the LE 3DS but it's more expensive than just buying an LL and the game....which is kinda....ehhh (plus the LL is bigger _^)
Oh...and just how much Japanese do you need to know to play? (I'm learning it but I'm still very much a beginner ^_^) Is there some kind of guide/wiki/let's play or something that helps you figure out stuff? (There's a topic here about a wiki right? Would that be a good check?)

As far as Japanese knowledge goes, if you're up for some searching in the help section and have some patience, with time you get the hang of the game since sometimes it repeats quite often.
When I started I barely knew anything, playing it I got the hand of things, although not 100% yet, I say that things got better with time.
So give it a go and just play, eventually it will be easy.
