about importing games in usa

hey. the question is: i'm not from usa but i am going to live there for some months. I wanted to know how it works to import games there. How many do you pay for taxes? Where can I find this information?

In the case, I want to import a japanese 3DS and New Love Plus. Anyone already did that? How much you paid?

as far as I know from on-line Friends you don't pay custom taxes to the US, that only applies to Europe and some other continents but not the United States, customs there are tax free...
