having recently played the Atami trip on my LP+ i think what they call 'time shift' is how you no longer have to necessarily check in every 10-30 minutes but you now rather get a string of the events in a continuous timeline whenever you enter the game with a save and exit option after each segment.(whereas before you wouldn't get some in-between events if you entered too late) Also you have to watch everything from beginning to end or else you don't proceed to the normal rhythm of the game unless you finish watching the trip even if many days pass by.(for instance i finished my 2nd Atami trip day in Manaka's slot 3 days later.) You do however miss stuff if you don't watch them when you should though(the RT night event for instance). Maybe if you exit without saving you don't get penalized and get to re-watch and redo stuff differently and that is what is called the time swift?

the only thing you have to be at the exact time for is 6am to see her sleeping face. I think sleeping is okay whenever, because you have a 'wake up' button. time shift is just letting you go through your normal life without having to check in every 30 minutes for an event.

there will be some illustrations that you have to take with your camera to save. otherwise the ones in the gallery you have to unlock in other ways. just nabbed the one of nene in her swimsuit during the atami trip. HAWT.
Just got the tickets from the lottery again. Probably scheduled after tanabata. Many things will affect the second trip, including references to hakone. And since it's July there will be a swimsuit event now. You can also opt out of the trip altogether.
