I think some people have doubts with the game in entirety, like the playing experience and the story, as I asked my friends. Though dating sim is usually more appealing in Japanese market, it might help if people could point out the experience this game can provide in contrast to US games such as The Sims series.

i have a feeling it's more towards people looking @ you weirdly if you were seen buying games from this genre..... not many ppl can take it... so yeah the publishers?/distributors all see this problem as well... but over the years... the trend HAS been changing... so hopefully... it all goes well this time... or what would be more apt is .. hopefully the publishers?/distributors don't think that this would be such a problem @ this time... They brought in Agarest, Catherine right?... a little bit more of a push and maybe in a year or so... we'll get to play galge on our PSPs.... cos we all know there are tons of galge being made for all the different consoles in Japan ...
tl;dr... dun worry.. it's just my 2cents

If they did release it here, I think they would have to change the name. I'm not sure if your average American boy/man would even look at a game with the name "love" in it (unless it was called I Love Big Guns")
Trying to make it sound more like a Sims game would be smarter (Sims Date?) I don't know.
But look at it this way, back in the 90's RPG games sold like crap in the US, even the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy games never made it here most of the time, but now RPG popularity has soared. I think Final Fantasy is more popular in the US than in Japan now, so there is hope...just not right now.

hmmm... just bcos they accept one thing doesn't mean they'll accept everything... that'd be wishful thinking... sometime in the future maybe... for now... if it does get SUBBED (not dubbed) that'd be a godsend. but hey at least now VERY LIMITED eroge are being subbed... maybe we're already getting somewhere...

to be honest the only form of localization i could handle of the game is it being...subtitled.. I'm, ofcourse participating in the petition but i do seriously hope they won't ruin the game's originality by making it something..else..
Edit: ohh, i just realized it's US only..does that mean i can't participate in that petition?

If Konami just try to rip people off they probably would subtitle, but even then not enough people played it in the US.
Also, consider that they would more likely make an entirely different game even if the concept is localized for the US, but that is only my assumption.

You have a point there. Now that I think about it, this game has quite a bit of Japanese culture. I guess they could tweak the game a bit, like Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan's counterpart, Elite Beat Agents, so there could be hope in the future. Granted, it's a very small chance, but a chance is a chance.

I'm not sure if an American counterpart would be all that great anyway. They have a tendency to really screw up the voice acting. I'd hate for Rinko to sound like some sort of high-pitched anime girl which is exactly what wouldhappen.
It would be best if it was like Samurai Warriors for the 3DS and kept the Japanese voices with English subtitles, but I doubt if it would sell well at all.
